Andhra Pradesh Tourism Booms: Rs 20,088 Cr Investment, 7,000 Rooms Underway

Andhra Pradesh's tourism sector attracted Rs 20,088 crore in investments over 18 months, achieving industry status.

Approximately 7,348 modern hotel rooms are under construction at an estimated cost of Rs 9,445 crore.
•
The new Tourism Policy 2024-29 aims to create 40,000 direct and indirect jobs, transforming AP into a world-class tourist destination.
•
Significant funds allocated for greenfield ports: Ramayapatnam (Rs 2,640 Cr), Moolapeta (Rs 2,833 Cr), Machilipatnam (Rs 2,264 Cr), and Kakinada SEZ (Rs 620 Cr).
•
Fishing harbors also under development to boost coastal economy and seafood exports, with projects like Uppada (Rs 282 Cr) and Machilipatnam (Rs 263 Cr).
