AP-Centre MoU on Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0: Safe Water for Every Home by 2028
•Andhra Pradesh government signs MoU with Centre for Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) 2.0 to provide safe drinking water to every rural household by December 2028.
•MoU signed in Delhi by Union Jal Shakti Secretary Ashok Kumar Meena and State Panchayat Raj Principal Secretary Shashibhushan Kumar, with CM Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan attending virtually.
•JJM 2.0, approved by Union Cabinet with a budget of Rs. 8.69 lakh crore, focuses on 'service delivery' and aims for 'Har Ghar Jal' certification for every Gram Panchayat.
•Public benefits include 55 litres of BIS-standard safe water per capita, reduced health issues, women's empowerment, and local employment.
•CM Chandrababu Naidu expressed gratitude to PM Narendra Modi, highlighting the project as an election promise and linking it to the completion of the Polavaram project by 2027.
