Hyderabad Traffic Relief: Y-Shaped Flyover Approved for Rasoolpura Junction
- •Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) has issued an NOC for a four-lane Y-shaped flyover at Rasoolpura Junction, a major traffic bottleneck in Hyderabad.
- •The project, costing approximately 150 crore rupees under the HICITI program, will start from the HMRL building and split into two parts: one towards Minister Road and another towards Patigadda.
- •The flyover aims to alleviate severe traffic congestion caused by vehicles merging from Uppal, LB Nagar, Secunderabad, Panjagutta, Banjara Hills, and areas around KIMS Hospital and Mushirabad.
- •Official permission has been granted for the use of B-2 category land owned by the Ministry of Defence, a step initiated by Minister K.T. Rama Rao in January 2022.
- •SCB also approved two elevated corridors by HMDA and decided to collect an annual license fee of 500 rupees per square yard and a 100% garbage fee from liquor shops and bars.
Why It Matters: A 150 crore Y-shaped flyover at Rasoolpura Junction gets SCB approval, promising significant traffic relief for Hyderabad.
