Markapuram Bus Tragedy: 14 Burnt Alive, CM Announces Ex-gratia for Victims
•A horrific bus accident in Markapuram district, Andhra Pradesh, resulted in 14 passengers being burnt alive after a collision with a tipper and subsequent fire.
•The Harikrishna Private Travels bus, traveling from Jagtial to Vinjamuru, collided with a loaded tipper near Palakala Quarry, Rayavaram, around 5 AM.
•Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu announced Rs. 5 lakhs ex-gratia for the deceased's families and Rs. 2 lakhs for the injured.
•CM instructed coordinated efforts from R&B, Transport, Police, and Health departments to prevent future accidents and ordered a comprehensive investigation.
•Many passengers were asleep when the fire started, trapping them; locals rescued some through windows, but the death toll is feared to rise.
