Tirumala Teppotsavam Begins: Sita, Rama Grace Float on First Day
•The Srivari Salakatla Teppotsavams (float festival) commenced grandly at Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala.
•On the first day, Sri Ramachandramurthy, accompanied by Sita, Lakshmana, and Anjaneya, gave divine darshan on a beautifully adorned float in the Swami Pushkarini.
•The five-day annual festival, known as "Teppa Tirunallu," involves Lord Venkateswara giving darshan on decorated floats, symbolizing divine grace.
•Historically, King Saluva Narasimha Rayalu initiated the Teppotsavams in 1468 AD, with renovations by Pedda Tirumalayya.
•The festivals, revived in 1921 after a hiatus, continue to be celebrated with great splendor, attracting large numbers of devotees and officials.
