TTD Laddu Scam: ED Probes Rs 235 Crore Hawala Fraud, YSRCP Under Fire

• The Tirumala Laddu ghee adulteration case has escalated with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) initiating an investigation into a Rs 235 crore hawala fraud.
• The Special Investigation Team (SIT) found that over Rs 20 crores were transferred through hawala channels in the scam, prompting the ED's involvement under PMLA.
• Accused Pomil Jain and Vipin Jain of Bhole Baba Organic Dairy allegedly diverted funds via hawala agents in Delhi to Hyderabad, Tirupati, Chennai, and Vijayawada.
• SIT revealed that Rs 75 lakhs went to TTD dairy expert Vijayabhaskar Reddy, Rs 31 lakhs to agent Srinivasan, and Rs 19.86 crores to Vaishnavi Dairy CEO Apoorva Chavda.
• The scam, involving 68 lakh kg of adulterated ghee supplied between 2019-2024 during YSRCP's tenure, has 36 accused who will now face ED questioning.
