Balirajgarh Excavation Approved: Unearthing 2000-Year-Old Mithila History

•Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) grants approval for scientific excavation at Balirajgarh, Madhubani, Bihar.
•The site, known as 'Raja Bali ka Garh', is expected to reveal ancient Mithila civilization and history.
•JDU's Sanjay Kumar Jha played a key role in securing the approval, aiming to develop it as an international tourist destination.
•Excavations will be led by Dr. Hari Om Sharan and could shed light on a 2000-year-old civilization, from Shunga-Kushan to Pala periods.
•Previous findings include Northern Black Polished Ware, terracotta figurines, copper coins, and evidence of advanced urban planning.
