Bihar: District Agriculture Officer, Driver Arrested Red-Handed in 50,000 Rupee Bribe Case

• Muzaffarpur District Agriculture Officer Himanshu Kumar and his driver Rambabu Rai were arrested by the Special Vigilance Unit (SVU).
• They were caught red-handed accepting a 50,000 rupee bribe from fertilizer shopkeepers.
• The bribe was demanded to prevent license cancellation during fertilizer shop inspections.
• SVU conducted a confidential investigation after receiving a written complaint, confirming the allegations.
• This is not the first such incident; the previous District Agriculture Officer was also caught in a bribery case in December 2025.
