Bihar's Rs 1800 Cr Ganga Water Project: Munger, Banka Farmers to Flourish

Bihar government's ambitious Rs 1800 crore irrigation project aims to bring Ganga water to Munger and Banka.

Ganga water will be lifted from Sultanganj, Bhagalpur, and transported 73 km to Hanuman Dam in Banka and Haveli Kharagpur Lake in Munger.

The project will provide permanent irrigation facilities, reducing farmers' dependence on rain and enabling multiple crops annually.

Land acquisition is complete, and pipeline laying is underway, with an 18-month completion target.

This initiative is expected to transform agriculture and boost the income of farmers in Bhagalpur, Munger, and Banka.
