Chhapra-Hajipur Four-lane: Traffic Jams to End by 2026, Ghazipur Travel Eased
- •The 66 km Chhapra-Hajipur four-lane project, started in 2013, is 60% complete and targeted for full completion by December 2026.
- •Partial relief is already seen as two-lane construction is finished on about 50% of the stretch, diverting large vehicles from city centers.
- •A critical 8-10 km bottleneck between Revilganj Mukrera Mor and Jaiprabha Bridge remains, forcing detours for Uttar Pradesh-bound traffic.
- •Completion of the Revilganj section will establish a direct four-lane connection between Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, easing travel to Ghazipur.
- •Other major projects include the Chhapra-Chakiya Ramjanki Path (₹7,300 crore) and a city flyover from Gandhi Chowk to Municipal Chowk (₹696 crore).
Why It Matters: Chhapra's traffic woes will largely end by 2026 with the completion of the Chhapra-Hajipur four-lane.
