•District Magistrate states actual cause of death unconfirmed, awaiting post-mortem and viscera reports for clarity.
•A Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed under Rural Superintendent of Police to probe deaths in Mashrak area.
•Administration conducted raids at 160 locations, arrested 11, and registered 6 cases against illegal liquor trade.
•Bihar has a complete liquor ban since April 5, 2016; a major tragedy in 2022 killed 23 in Chhapra from similar incidents.
