• Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced the Ekmi to Shobhan bypass road would be converted into a four-lane road for Darbhanga AIIMS.
• The 10-kilometer four-lane road, stretching from Ekmi Chowk to Shobhan, aims to reduce traffic jams and serve as a lifeline for AIIMS patients.
• The project requires acquiring 92.8950 acres of land from 14 villages, with an estimated cost of 338 crore rupees.
• The four-lane road will connect directly to Laheriasarai, passing through Ekmi Ghat from near Shobhan Chowk on NH 27.
• Despite the tender process being completed, ground work has not yet started, prompting the Darbhanga District Magistrate to urge acceleration.
