Gopalganj: 15 Students Fall Ill After Filaria Medicine, Parents Protest

• Approximately 15 students in Harkhua village, Gopalganj, fell ill after consuming filaria medicine administered by ASHA workers.
• Children experienced stomach pain, gas, and vomiting, leading to chaos and parental protests at the school.
• All 58 children present at the school were given filaria and Albendazole tablets after their mid-day meal.
• Some children also reported feeling sleepy and falling asleep shortly after taking the medicine.
• The affected students were admitted to Sadar Hospital but have since been discharged and are out of danger.
