ATF Prices Soar, Air Travel Set to Become More Expensive
•Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) prices have seen a massive increase, almost doubling in many cities compared to March 1, 2026.
•In Delhi, ATF jumped from ₹96,638 to ₹2,07,341 per kiloliter; Chennai saw the highest hike, reaching ₹2,14,597.
•The surge in ATF rates will significantly raise airlines' operating costs, leading to higher flight ticket prices.
•This price hike is attributed to international crude oil fluctuations and a weakening rupee-dollar exchange rate, exacerbated by the US-Iran conflict.
•Commercial LPG cylinder rates also increased by up to ₹218, with a 19 kg cylinder now costing ₹2078.50 in Delhi.
