FM Sitharaman: Domestic LPG Production Ramping Up Amid West Asia Crisis
•
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced increased domestic LPG production to ensure household supplies.
•
The move addresses import disruptions caused by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz due to the West Asia conflict.
•
India imports nearly 65% of its LPG, with 90% of that coming through the Strait of Hormuz.
•
Domestic LPG production is being ramped up by about 25% by diverting other hydrocarbon materials.
•
Sitharaman also stated the government will clear Rs 1.48 lakh crore in oil bonds issued during the UPA government.
