India's ₹345 Cr Iran-bound Goods Stuck at Ports Amid West Asia Crisis

Goods worth approximately ₹345 crore, including rice, tea, and medicines, destined for Iran are stranded at Kandla and Mundra ports.

The delay is attributed to disruptions in shipping and port operations caused by the ongoing West Asia crisis and US-Israel attacks on Iran.

Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Jitin Prasada, confirmed the consignment, which was due by March 1, is now stuck.
•
India primarily exports grains (Basmati rice) and medicines to Iran, which are crucial items for the country.
•
These exports are exempt from US and Western sanctions on Iran under United Nations rules, allowing India to continue trade.
