FIIs Sell Rs 3,844 Cr, DIIs Buy Rs 6,160 Cr in Indian Equities; Market Range-Bound

  • Foreign investors (FIIs/FPIs) were net sellers of Indian equities worth Rs 3,844 crore on Tuesday, their highest sell-off since November 28.
  • Domestic institutional investors (DIIs) countered this by net buying shares worth Rs 6,160 crore on the same day.
  • Year-to-date, FIIs have been net sellers of Rs 2.88 lakh crore, while DIIs have net bought shares worth Rs 7.78 lakh crore.
  • Benchmark indices, Nifty and Sensex, saw range-bound activity, ending slightly lower by 3 and 20 points respectively.
  • Nandish Shah of HDFC Securities notes Nifty's short-term bullish structure remains intact above 50-DEMA (25,837), with 26,100-26,150 as key resistance.

Why It Matters: FII selling was offset by strong DII buying, keeping market indices range-bound despite minor dips.
