SEBI relaxes capacity norms for commodity derivatives platforms

• SEBI eases capacity planning requirements for stock exchanges and clearing corporations in commodity derivatives.
• Previous norm of four times peak order load reduced to two times projected peak load.
• If utilization exceeds 75% of installed capacity, MIIs must initiate corrective measures.
• Corrective actions to be supervised by the MII’s Standing Committee on Technology (SCOT).
• New policies must be submitted to SEBI within three months, effective May 11, 2026.
