PAN Card New Rules 2026: Major Changes Coming to PAN Card Usage

• New draft rules for PAN cards effective April 1, 2026, under the Income Tax Act 2025.
• PAN mandatory for annual cash deposits/withdrawals of Rs 10 lakh or more, replacing the daily Rs 50,000 limit.
• PAN required only for motor vehicles priced above Rs 5 lakh, including two-wheelers.
• PAN mandatory for hotel/event bills exceeding Rs 1 lakh, up from Rs 50,000.
• PAN required for property transactions above Rs 20 lakh and for starting new insurance policies.
