UPSC Prelims is a challenging exam; Mains merit is based on GS-1 marks, while 33% in CSAT is mandatory.
•
Dr. Vikas Divyakirti states General category cutoff often hovers between 85-95 marks (45-48 correct answers out of 200).
•
Attempt 80-90 questions for a safe score; 75-80 if accuracy is high, more if taking risks to ensure 95+ after negative marking.
•
Take calculated risks on questions where two options are eliminated, as the probability of correctness becomes 50%.
