• The renaming honors Captain Neikezhakuo Kengurus, a Kargil War hero posthumously awarded the Maha Vir Chakra.
• Captain Kengurus, born in Nerhema village, Kohima district, Nagaland, joined the Indian Army in 1998.
• He displayed exceptional bravery during the Kargil War, leading his contingent to capture an enemy machine gun post on Tololing.
• Despite being shot, Captain Kengurus continued to fight, destroying an enemy bunker before succumbing to his injuries on June 18, 1999.
