PM Modi Unveils ₹18,300 Cr Delhi Metro Expansion; Pink Line Becomes India's First Ring Metro
•PM Narendra Modi to inaugurate two new Delhi Metro extension corridors and lay foundation for three new projects worth ₹18,300 crore on Sunday.
•The 12.3 km Majlis Park-Maujpur-Babarpur section of Pink Line will make it India's first fully operational 'Ring Metro', easing pressure on central interchange stations.
•The Pink Line expansion includes a double-level bridge over Yamuna River with metro track above and road flyover below, extending its total length to 71.56 km.
•Magenta Line's 9.92 km Deepali Chowk to Majlis Park section also opens, connecting North-West Delhi areas like Bhalswa and Haiderpur; total length 49 km.
•Foundation stone for Phase-5A routes: RK Ashram to Indraprastha, Aerocity to Terminal-1, and Tughlakabad to Kalindi Kunj, enhancing NCR connectivity and reducing pollution.
