World's Largest Shivling: Devotees to Perform Jalabhishek on Mahashivratri

• Devotees can now perform Jalabhishek on the Sahasra Shivling at Virat Ramayan Temple, Motihari, on Mahashivratri.
• Offering water to this Shivling is believed to grant blessings from 1072 gods and goddesses.
• A smaller replica of the 33-foot Shivling, made from the same stone and containing 1008 Shivlings, has been installed for worship.
• The installation method for the Sahasra Shivling was discovered from ancient manuscripts, a practice no longer common.
• The temple complex will also feature a Bhupur Peeth with 64 goddesses and gods, and facilities for Rudrabhishek and mundan ceremonies.
