West Bengal HS Exam 2026 Begins Today: First Time Under Semester System!

• West Bengal Higher Secondary examination begins today, Thursday, introducing the semester system for the first time.
• Professor Chiranjib Bhattacharya, President of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education, highlighted the challenge of conducting exams on this scale under the new system.
• Three types of exams (Semester-IV, Semester-III Supplementary, old system HS) will be held from February 12 to February 27, with 7,10,811 candidates.
• Female candidates outnumber male candidates by 79,347 across all 23 districts.
