Ahmedabad Building Collapse: Gallery Crumbles, Trapping Dozens; Second Incident in 15 Days

• A gallery of a 60-65 year old dilapidated building in Sant Vinoba Nagar, Sukhramnagar, Ahmedabad collapsed.
• Dozens of people from approximately 20 homes were trapped but have since been rescued by fire brigade teams.
• An 80-year-old woman was injured and taken to L.G. Hospital; 5-6 others sustained minor injuries.
• The building, constructed in 1962-63, is part of municipal quarters with 440 houses and 250 shanties.
• This is the second gallery collapse in the area in two months, despite repeated evacuation notices to residents.
