BJP Names PM Modi Loyalist Sanjay Bhatia for Haryana Rajya Sabha Seat

•BJP announces Sanjay Bhatia, former Karnal MP and close aide of PM Modi, as its candidate for one Haryana Rajya Sabha seat.
•Bhatia, 58, from Panipat, holds a B.Com degree and has a long history with BJP, starting from ABVP.
•He secured the largest victory margin in Haryana's 53-year history in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Karnal.
•BJP is certain to win one of the two Rajya Sabha seats, with voting scheduled for March 16.
•The second seat is likely to go to Congress, given the current assembly strength (BJP 48, Congress 37, INLD 3).
