Blood Moon in Himachal: Lunar Eclipse Visible for Short Duration in Shimla, Manali

The first lunar eclipse of 2026 will be visible across Himachal Pradesh, including Shimla, Manali, Mandi, and Dharamshala.

Temple doors across the state have been closed until evening due to the Sutak period, which began at 6:20 AM.
•
The lunar eclipse will begin around 3:19 PM and last until 6:47 PM, with effects observed for approximately three and a half hours.
•
In Shimla, the moon will rise around 6:15 PM, making the lunar eclipse visible for only 20-25 minutes.
•
In Manali, the moon will rise at 6:21 PM, allowing people to witness the lunar eclipse for only 30 minutes.
