Actor Vijay Demands Immediate Release of 25 Tamil Nadu Fishermen Arrested by Sri Lankan Navy

• Actor and political leader Vijay urged the Union government to secure the immediate release of 25 Tamil Nadu fishermen arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy.
• The fishermen were arrested for allegedly fishing in Sri Lankan waters after crossing the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) in two mechanised boats.
• The impounded boats carried 14 and 11 fishermen, primarily from Mayiladuthurai and Nagapattinam districts.
• Vijay highlighted that nine Tamil Nadu fishermen released by a Sri Lankan court on January 3 have not yet returned home, and three others are still jailed due to unpaid fines.
• He criticized the Tamil Nadu government for inaction and called for the rescue of all arrested fishermen from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
