Karnataka Budget: Rs 160 Cr Walkway, Major Infra Boost for Bengaluru
•Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah announced a 9-km pedestrian walkway along Bengaluru's ORR Metro viaduct, costing Rs 160 crore, sponsored by ORRCA.
•Namma Metro, now India's second-largest network, will add 41 km in FY27, benefiting 15 lakh daily commuters; state contributed 88% of Rs 67,460 crore spent.
•Bengaluru to get Nelamangala-Tavareke-Bidadi Intermediate Ring Road and 73-km Bengaluru Business Corridor Phase-1, targeting 4-year completion.
•Rs 40,000 crore approved for 40 km tunnel roads (North-South, East-West Corridors) under BOOT model; tenders out for 17-km North-South stretch.
•Cauvery Phase VI project, costing Rs 6,939 crore with JICA aid, will supply an additional six TMC of water to Bengaluru, serving 1.4 crore people.
