Gangasagar Mela: Sealdah Division Runs Record 126 Special Trains with Strict Security

• Eastern Railway's Sealdah Division to operate a record 126 special EMU local trains for Gangasagar Mela 2026 (Jan 10-16), a significant increase from 72 in 2025.
• Extensive crowd management plans include large holding areas at Sealdah and Kakdwip with amenities, dedicated platforms 15 & 16 at Sealdah, and phased entry.
• Enhanced security measures involve over 400 RPF personnel, 200 extra railway staff, a standby engine, and an additional EMU rake for emergencies.
• Special trains will run on Sealdah-Namkhana and Kolkata Station routes, with specific timings and stops at Ballygunge, Sonarpur, Baruipur, Lakshmikantapur, Nishchindapur, Kakdwip.
