Peanut Shells: Not Waste, But a Treasure for Plants! Make Compost, Revitalize Your Garden
•
Peanut shells, often discarded, can be transformed into excellent organic fertilizer for plants.
•
Directly adding shells to soil is detrimental as they decompose slowly, absorb moisture, and draw nitrogen, stunting plant growth.
•
To make compost, collect shells (wash salted ones), crush them, and layer them in a container with dry leaves and old soil/manure.
•
Maintain moisture and aerate the mixture every 10-15 days; the compost will be ready in 2-3 months.
•
Use the prepared compost to enrich soil for new plants or as a top dressing for existing ones, improving soil health and plant strength.
