Jabalpur SDM Poses as Customer, Busts Gas Agencies Selling Cylinders at Inflated Prices

• Jabalpur district administration took action against commercial misuse and overpricing of domestic gas cylinders.
• Gas agencies were found charging Rs 1000-1400 per cylinder instead of the fixed rate of Rs 860, demanding an extra Rs 150-400.
• SDM Anurag Singh and teams posed as customers, recorded agencies demanding higher prices, and made UPI payments as evidence.
• 12 major gas agencies were found guilty and issued show-cause notices by Collector Raghavendra Singh, demanding a response within three days.
• Violation is punishable under LPG (Delivery & Distribution) Order-2000 and Essential Commodities Act; public urged to report overcharging.
