Mahakal Lok to get new Sapt Rishi idols: Durable stone replaces damaged fiber

• New stone idols of Sapt Rishis, replacing those damaged in May 2023, are nearing completion for Mahakal Lok.
• These durable idols are crafted from special Bansi Paharpur stone from Rajasthan, known for its strength.
• Experienced artisans from Konark, Odisha, led by President's Awardee Ishwar Chandra Maharana, are creating the 15-foot tall idols.
• The artisans, whose families have worked on historical temples like Konark Sun Temple, ensure high quality.
• All idols, including a large Shiva idol, are expected to be ready by the first week of February 2026 for installation in Ujjain.
