MP Police Scandal: Same Witnesses in 1000 FIRs, Officer Removed
- •A major controversy has erupted in Madhya Pradesh's Mauganj district regarding the repeated use of the same government witnesses in numerous police cases.
- •Digital crime records from the Ministry of Home Affairs' CCTNS project revealed that six individuals were named as witnesses in approximately 1,000 FIRs since 2000 at Lour and Naigarhi police stations.
- •RTI activist Kunj Bihari Tiwari filed a complaint alleging that former Station In-charge Jagdish Singh Thakur misused his position to legitimize over 150 suspicious FIRs using a select few witnesses.
- •Some 'super witnesses' like Dinesh Kushwaha and Rahul Vishwakarma claim their names were used without their knowledge or that they only signed after arrests, not as witnesses in so many cases.
- •Mauganj SP Dilip Soni removed Jagdish Singh Thakur from his post as Naigarhi Station In-charge following the complaint and evidence presented.
Why It Matters: MP Police officer removed after records expose same witnesses in 1000 FIRs, raising serious corruption concerns.
