Pune-Kolhapur in 3 Hours: Highway Expansion to Cut Travel Time by 2026

• Travel time between Pune and Kolhapur to be reduced to approximately three hours upon completion of highway work.
• Major road widening, flyover construction, and underpass building are underway on the Pune-Bengaluru National Highway.
• Work includes improvements in accident-prone areas and sections like Khed Shivapur, Shivare, Harishchandri, and Vele.
• A new tunnel in Khambatki Ghat is complete, and the Karad flyover is expected to open by June.
• The project, accelerated by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari's intervention, aims for completion by June 2026.
