Market Flat Amid Volatility, Rupee Continues to Weaken This Week
- •Sensex and Nifty closed almost flat this short week, experiencing high volatility, global trade uncertainties, geopolitical tensions, mixed global cues, and continuous FII outflows.
- •The BSE Midcap index saw a slight decline, with LT Technology Services and Dixon Technologies facing pressure, while Bank of India and Oil India saw gains.
- •The BSE Smallcap index fell by 0.5 percent, with Genesys International Corporation and Nectar Lifesciences declining, but Wardwizard Innovations and Mobility and JTL Industries gained significantly.
- •The BSE Largecap index saw marginal gains, led by Vedanta and Union Bank of India, while Polycab India and Divi’s Laboratories were among the top losers.
- •Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) offloaded equities worth Rs 14,265.58 crore, while Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) supported the market by purchasing Rs 16,173.69 crore.
Why It Matters: Indian markets remained largely flat amidst high volatility and FII outflows, while the Rupee depreciated further.
