Tata Group Secures Major Pinaka Rocket System Upgrade Order for Indian Army

• Tata Advanced Systems will overhaul and upgrade the Indian Army's first-generation Pinaka Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRS) and Battery Command Posts (BCP).
• The project is a public-private partnership, with Tata providing technical expertise, certified spares, and coordination with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
• The work will be completed in two phases, starting with a pilot overhaul by Tata and 510 ABW, followed by the Army's 510 ABW completing the remaining systems with Tata's support.
• Developed in collaboration with DRDO, the Pinaka MLRS boasts approximately 80% indigenous content and features 'shoot-and-scoot' capability.
• The system is future-ready, designed to fire guided rockets and new variants with extended ranges of 120 km and 300 km.
