- •Maruti Suzuki India Limited will invest 35,000 crore rupees to establish a new vehicle manufacturing plant in Khoraj, Gujarat, on 1750 acres provided by GIDC.
- •The plant aims to produce 10 lakh (1 million) cars annually through four units, each with a capacity of 2.5 lakh cars, with production starting before FY2029.
- •This project is expected to create over 12,000 direct jobs and approximately 7.50 lakh indirect jobs through ancillary and MSME units, strengthening Gujarat's auto hub status.
- •Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel highlighted the project as a significant step towards PM Modi's 'Make in India Made for the World' goal and strengthening India's automobile manufacturing corridor.
- •The investment letter was handed over in Gandhinagar, with CM Bhupendra Patel, Deputy CM Harsh Sanghavi, and Maruti Suzuki MD Hitachi Takeuchi present, following an MoU signed at the 2024 Vibrant Summit.
