Indian Railways: Boarding Point Change Rule Eased to 30 Minutes Before Departure
•Indian Railways now allows passengers to change their boarding point up to 30 minutes before train departure, a significant shift from the previous eight-hour limit.
•This new rule primarily benefits residents of five NCR cities: Noida, Greater Noida, Gurugram, and Faridabad, and those in the outskirts of major cities.
•Previously, passengers from these NCR cities often traveled 30-50 km to Delhi to catch trains due to short stops in their local stations and traffic concerns.
•The change addresses issues like traffic jams, allowing passengers to switch to a closer station like Ghaziabad if delayed reaching Delhi, utilizing the train's travel time between stations.
•The TTE will be informed of the updated boarding station, ensuring a smoother experience for passengers who change their plans last minute.
