ISRO's 'Third Eye' EOS-N1 Mission Launches Tomorrow for Enhanced Surveillance

  • ISRO's PSLV-C62 mission, featuring the EOS-N1 satellite (codenamed 'Anvesha'), is set to launch on January 12 at 10:17 AM from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota.
  • EOS-N1, developed by Bengaluru-based Pixxel, is India's first private Earth observation satellite, enhancing security and surveillance.
  • Equipped with a hyperspectral camera, EOS-N1 captures images in over 140 spectral bands, offering detailed insights for agriculture, environment, mining, and disaster management.
  • Operating in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) at 500-600 km, it provides high-resolution images daily, crucial for national security and border monitoring.
  • The PSLV-C62 mission will also deploy 18 other satellites, including Europe's 'Kestrel Initial Demonstrator' and CubeSats from Indian universities.

Why It Matters: ISRO's EOS-N1 mission, India's 'Third Eye', will significantly boost surveillance and Earth observation capabilities.
