•A father in Medak district, Telangana, allegedly sold his newborn son for ₹17 lakh within a week of birth.
•The accused father, Mahipal, was reportedly addicted to alcohol and facing severe financial difficulties.
•The incident came to light when vigilant Anganwadi workers noticed the mother, Manjula, missing and investigated.
•Police located the child, who was sold to a couple in Kamareddy district, and safely reunited him with his mother at Sakhi Kendra.
•Manjula stated Mahipal sold the child while intoxicated and without her knowledge, sparking outrage in the area.
