• Six new railway line projects under North Eastern Frontier Railway approved to boost infrastructure and regional connectivity in North Bengal and the North-Eastern region.
• Projects include Raiganj–Itahar (22.16 km, ₹129.34 cr) and Gajol–Itahar (27.20 km, ₹85.59 cr), enhancing connectivity in North and South Dinajpur districts.
• Itahar–Buniadpur (27.095 km, ₹287.94 cr) will connect commercial and population centers, improving rural and semi-urban area connectivity.
• Chalsa–Naxalbari (19.85 km, ₹292.92 cr) strengthens communication in the Dooars region, while Raja Bhat Khawa–Jainti (15.13 km, ₹180.16 cr) passes through Buxa Tiger Reserve with ecological balance.
• Raiganj–Dalkhola (43.43 km, ₹291.53 cr) will reduce travel time and accelerate freight and passenger transport, with preliminary work already completed.
