Police Constable Mauled by Tiger in Arunachal Pradesh; Two-Wheeler Traffic Banned
- •Chikseung Manpung, a police head constable, was fatally attacked by a tiger while riding his motorbike on a hilly road in Lower Dibang Valley, Arunachal Pradesh.
- •The incident occurred while Manpung was returning from Anini, sparking alarm due to the rarity of human deaths from tiger attacks in the region.
- •Following the attack, SP Manish Shaurya of Lower Dibang Valley, in consultation with the forest department, banned two-wheeler traffic on the route.
- •The ban comes after multiple tiger sightings near Mayudia, a popular tourist spot, and reports of a tigress with three cubs in the area.
- •Expert teams from Itanagar and other tiger reserves have been dispatched to relocate the tigers, as confirmed by DFO Mito Rumi.
