Train Mobile Theft Leads to Rs 40,000 Bank Account Drain; Police Recover Funds

A mobile phone theft on a moving train resulted in Rs 39,998 being stolen from the victim's bank account.

Mangalkot Police, with the Purba Bardhaman Cyber Wing, used modern technology to trace and recover the stolen money.

The incident occurred on July 2, 2024, when migrant worker Sandeep Bharui's phone was stolen in Odisha.

The stolen funds were transferred to three criminals' bank accounts, which were identified and the money recovered legally.

Police officially returned Rs 39,000 to the complainant, Shila Bharui, expressing gratitude for the police's efforts.
