Barmer Environmentalist's Unique Plan: 300 Water Reservoirs to Quench Thirst of Thousands of Desert Creatures

• Narpat Singh Rajpurohit is creating 300 water reservoirs in the Barmer desert to provide water for wildlife.
• The initiative aims to help birds and animals like nilgai and chinkara, who struggle to find water in temperatures exceeding 45 degrees Celsius.
• The campaign, usually starting after Holi, began early this year due to rising temperatures, preventing creatures from wandering for water.
• For the past 6 years, 9 reservoirs have been regularly filled with public cooperation, benefiting deer, rabbits, foxes, peacocks, and hundreds of cows.
• The largest reservoir in Dudharai Nadi has a capacity of 112,000 liters, serving as a lifeline for thousands of creatures.
