Churu Court Jails 3 for 7 Years, Fines 39 Lakhs in Widow's Insurance Fraud Case
•Churu Court sentenced three individuals to 7 years rigorous imprisonment and imposed a 39 lakh rupee fine for defrauding a widow of her husband's 15 lakh rupee insurance.
•The convicted include insurance agent Kamalkant Soni, company representative Yogesh, and bank employee Sheraram alias Shera, for a 'well-planned criminal conspiracy'.
•The accused opened a fake bank account in the illiterate widow Hajra Begum's name and deposited the insurance claim, then withdrew funds using a forged signature.
•A key error was forging Hajra Begum's signature, as she was illiterate and always used a thumb impression, which exposed the fraud.
•The court emphasized that 'justice should not only be done but also be seen to be done'; the fine will go to Hajra Begum's son, Ikramuddin.
