• Bardhaman's iconic Banshgopal Town Hall, built in 1890 AD with Italian and British architecture, has been renovated and will be inaugurated on January 2.
• The renovation, costing approximately three and a half crore rupees, began in mid-2025 and aimed to preserve its royal heritage while adding modern amenities.
• Upgrades include large chandeliers, new portraits, modern sound/lighting systems, an extended stage with teak wood, green rooms, and VIP facilities.
• The exterior has also been beautified with new paint, design, and special lighting, delighting local residents.
• Bardhaman Municipality Chairman Paresh Chandra Sarkar highlighted the challenge of blending heritage with modern functionality, aiming for a top-tier auditorium outside Kolkata.
