India Unveils 'Param-2' AI Model at AI Impact Summit 2026, Supports 22 Languages

• India launches 'Param-2', a multilingual AI model with 17 billion parameters, at the AI Impact Summit 2026.
• Developed under the 'BharatGen' initiative, 'Param-2' is designed for Indian languages, government needs, and local conditions.
• The model supports all 22 scheduled Indian languages, trained on Indian datasets via 'Bharat Data Sagar' and uses 'Mixture-of-Experts' technique.
• Unlike commercial AI, 'Param-2' is a 'Public Digital Good' for government, banks, hospitals, and educational institutions, even offline.
• Initially funded with 235 crore rupees, the initiative received an additional 900 crore rupees under the IndiaAI Mission.
