• Mahashivaratri Brahmotsavams at Sri Bhavani Ramalingeswara Swamy Temple in Keesaragutta begin today, lasting six days until February 18.
• The temple, 35 km from Hyderabad, has a legend dating to the Treta Yuga, where Lord Rama consecrated a Shiva Lingam.
• Lord Rama named the hill 'Kesarigiri' (now Keesaragutta) to appease Hanuman, who brought 101 Shiva Lingams from Kashi.
