Telangana's Indiramma Sarees: Free Distribution for Women Begins March 1

•Telangana government to distribute 'Indiramma sarees' to women, replacing the previous BRS government's Bathukamma sarees.
•Under the Indira Mahila Shakti scheme, DWACRA group women will receive two sarees; distribution starts March 1.
•Initial distribution began November 19, 2025, for Indira Gandhi's birth anniversary, but was halted due to election codes.
•MEPM officials plan to distribute 30 lakh sarees in urban areas between March 1 and 8, ahead of International Women's Day.
•The initiative provides employment to over 6,000 handloom weavers in Karimnagar, Sircilla, and Hanamkonda districts.
